Milk & Brulee

Recently, I've not had much time in the mornings to do the whole eye makeup routine, you know eye primer, lid colour, define the crease etc. Uni has become incredibly hectic and all i want to do is try to not look dead and scare my friends off. So i realized that by highlighting my inner corners and brow bone i kinda could fake the whole,* I haven't been up the whole night and am literally running on coffee look*

Wet 'n' Wild Color Icon Single in Brulee and Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
This is the combo that helps me do just that. No miracles here, just good old makeup products:)
I use the Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk on the browbone and inner corners, then top it off with the Wet 'n' Wild Color Icon single in Brulee. The Nyx Jumbo Pencil has a slightly tacky feel to it, so when i apply my shadow on top, it stays put for slightly longer than usual. Brulee has been  my go-to shade the past month or so.  Pigmented, creamy and easily blended. It's completely matte and does a good job of highlighting, what more can i ask for!

NOTD - Opi Wooden Shoe Like To Know?

I think one of the best nail polish collections to come out from OPI after a long time has been the current Holland collection. They have totally outdone themselves. Gorgeous shades, great formulation and aptly named colours .What more could a nail polish junkie ask for!

The fist polish i grabbed to try on when my order arrived was this.  Yes, it looks like any other  chocolate brown colour, but there's a gorgeous goldie, purply shimmer running through it that makes this polish one of a kind. I tried to capture it in the picture, unfortunately it didn't pick up, but trust me, if you happened to see this in store do take a look, it's just gorgeous and unique! To good to pass up IMHO;)

Did you pick up anything from the OPI Holland collection?

Tendertone Hype?

Giving into the hype...does that happen to you sometimes. You find yourself so taken by all the blogpost or the YouTube videos where people are just raving about a specific product and you succumb to the hype. This, is a product like many others i succumbed to and the outcome you ask? .... Yes it is worth the hype!

I picked up 3 of the much talked about tendertones that recently came out with the Mac Shop, Mac Cook collection online. I was expecting them to be moisturizing but not necessarily pigmented and I was pleasantly surprised. Now they aren't any was pigmented like a lippy but they do give off a decent amount of colour that i could get away with only wearing this throughout the day.

Mac Hot N Spicy, Hush Hush and Purring
Moisturizing properties you ask? that's the million dollar question! It does as it says.  They feel luscious on the lips, glide on smoothly and don't feel sticky to me. The smell is a fruity citrus scent that makes the application all the more better. I just love slathering this on throughout the day and have the scent lingering around.

Work Appropriate

As a pharmacy student, we have work placements to complete as part of the course and this time round i opted for placement in a  rural NSW hospital. Of course the first thing that crossed my mind beside what makeup would I wear included, what nail polishes would be considered work appropriate!

Now being a uni student, i tend to get away with the occasional bright and bolder colours and i'm rather carefree with my colour choices when it comes to polishes. So when i was packing, some tough choices had to be made! After all, i had to make a good impression;)

These were what i came up with. I narrowed it down to 3 shades of what i considered neutral and work appropriate. I did manage to inject some colour but in a more subdued manner with the pink and lilac. The grey, i thought was a great choice as it just looks classy on short nails and goes with most work attire.
